The great advantage of the program is that it brings together professors from various units of UFMG: School of Medicine (Departments of Mental Health and Clinical Medicine); Institute of Biological Sciences (Departments of Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology and Morphology); Faculty of Humanities and Philosophy (Department of Psychology); School of Engineering (Department of Electronic Engineering); Institute of Mathematical Sciences (Statistics Department); and School of Music, becoming an initiative of the University, in the broadest sense of that word.

 In addition, as the program is open to professionals from various fields of knowledge as human and exact, and not only for the biological and health areas, allows those identifying new prospects of neuroscience that can substantiate their theoretical knowledge and its practical, stimulating interdisciplinarity.
